COVID-19: checking tools updated in Monaco

The French authorities have confirmed that the vaccination pass enters into force for people aged 16 and over from Monday 24 January. This pass will replace the current health pass at venues open to the public throughout France, with the exception of healthcare facilities.

In the Principality of Monaco, the health pass system remains in effect. This change in the French system will mean changes for anyone responsible for checking passes using the TAC verif app.

For those responsible for checking passes

The TAC verif app will be updated on Monday 24 January. Those who check passes will have the option of two verification modes:

  • Vaccination pass
  • Health pass

To activate the health pass checking tool, simply select “deactivate the vaccination pass” in the TAC verif app.

For pass users

Those who hold a health pass that is valid in the Principality of Monaco do not need to take any action, Nor do those who have opted to use the TousAntiCovid app.

However, Monegasque nationals and residents are reminded that they will need to comply with French regulations when in France, i.e. they will need to show a vaccination pass to access premises where this is required. This means that they will need to be able to demonstrate full vaccination or a certificate confirming their recovery from COVID-19 at least 11 days and no more than six months ago.

The French authorities have also indicated that vaccination passes can be activated from the beginning of the vaccination process, subject to certain conditions: the first dose must have been administered before 15 February, a negative test from within the previous 24 hours will continue to be necessary to access various venues subject to the vaccination pass requirement, and the second dose will need to be given within one month.

The Prince’s Government would like to reiterate the importance of being vaccinated against COVID-19. The vaccine is currently the most effective way to protect yourself and others. Vaccination is free for Monegasque nationals and residents.
