COVID-19: measures applicable from 19 April

MEASURES APPLICABLE FROM 19/04/21

Curfew from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. (to take effect on 19 April)

  • Exemptions will apply to the curfew, primarily for work, health, and family reasons, or for brief outings with pets

 

Restaurants are open for lunch and dinner service, but subject to certain conditions:

  • Lunch service is open to residents, employees and guests staying in a hotel in the Principality
  • Evening service is only open to residents and guests staying in a hotel in Monaco
  • Reservations are mandatory in restaurants and tables can seat a maximum of six guests
  • Service may continue until 9.30 p.m. A travel exemption until 10 p.m. at the latest is planned for restaurant customers, who must have a certificate issued by the restaurant owner proving that they have been out to dinner.
  • Takeaway services may operate until 9 p.m. from 19 April
  • There must be a distance of at least 1.5 metres between restaurant tables
  • There must be no background music in restaurants
  • Bars are closed (the State is funding strengthened provisions for total temporary layoff at a rate of 100%)
  • Restaurant customers can order from the restaurant’s bar during lunch service (table service only)

 

Masks must be worn in all public spaces, and in all closed spaces open to the public and shared areas of private spaces:

  • Children aged under five years and people who are exercising outdoors do not need to wear a mask. Those exercising should carry a mask in their pocket in case they need to put it on
  • The wearing of masks in private spaces is strongly recommended, particularly when someone from outside the household or a vulnerable person is present
  • It is strongly recommended to limit cigarette, coffee and meal breaks taken with other people, and not to move around when in such situations

 

Outdoor school sports will resume with strict protocols in place when schools return on Monday 26 April 2021.

Gyms, swimming pools, jacuzzis, hammams and saunas are closed.

  • Private sports lessons with a coach are permitted (see conditions)
  • Outdoor sport is permitted (see conditions)
  • The closed-door policy for professional clubs will continue

 

Teleworking remains mandatory in the public and private sectors beyond 18 April 2021.

Educational establishments are open with masks mandatory from primary school upwards.

Public services remain open.

Shops are open but must respect the curfew hours and limit capacity to one person per 6 m².

Banks, construction sites and companies continue to operate.

Public establishments are open (museums, exhibition halls, etc.), but must respect the curfew hours.

Hotels are open.

Visits to care homes are permitted but opportunities for resident outings have been temporarily suspended.

Places of worship are open with capacity limited to one person per 6 m².

Funerals are permitted.

Gatherings in public spaces are limited to 6 people.
