Covid-19: Results of testing campaign
The Prince’s Government organised a testing campaign using self-tests in schools on 21 and 22 March, two weeks after the requirement to wear masks in schools was lifted and one week after the health pass was discontinued in the Principality.
The general trend towards an increase in the spread of the virus was confirmed.
Nearly 3,300 people in the school community – more than half of those present (55%) – agreed to be tested. Of these, 47 returned a positive self-test for COVID-19, including 43 pupils (30 of whom were residents) and 4 members of school staff (including 2 residents).
The positivity rate was 1.4%, close to the 1.9% recorded during the testing that took place in January 2022. The positivity rate during the testing campaign following the winter holidays was 0.8%.
The individuals whose self-tests were positive then had to confirm these initial results via a PCR test, which partly explains the significant number of positive cases reported yesterday evening.
The Prince’s Government would like to remind residents and employees that they can, if they wish, obtain a free PCR test without the need for a medical prescription, at the National Testing Centre in the Rainier III Auditorium. Contact the COVID-19 Call Centre on +377 92 05 55 00.
