COVID-19: relaxation of health measures

Due to developments in the health situation, H.S.H. Prince Albert II, at the suggestion of His Government, has decided to introduce changes to the health measures from Saturday 16 April 2022.

Although the COVID-19 virus continues to circulate freely, the trend in the health situation has been more positive over the last two weeks, with a decline in the incidence rate. The following measures will apply:

  • For restaurant and bar customers

Prior bookings are no longer mandatory for those wishing to visit restaurants or nightclubs.

There are no more limits on the number of guests per table.

The 74-decibel limit on background music in restaurants and bars has been removed.

  • Bus drivers for the Monegasque Bus Company (CAM) are no longer required to wear masks since they are separated from passengers by a transparent screen.
  • Health passes are no longer required in hotels.
  • Measures relating to access to places of worship have been lifted.
  • Home working will continue to be an option for those employers and employees who wish to take advantage of it until 31 May 2022.
  • Visitors to healthcare and elderly care facilities will still have to show a health pass.

BARRIER MEASURES ARE VITAL TO CURBING THE SPREAD OF THE VIRUS

As such, masks must continue to be worn in indoor public spaces and hand washing or use of hand sanitiser continues to be a critical barrier measure.

The Prince’s Government’s management of the health crisis continue to be pragmatic and evolving. The Government will make changes to health measures in line with developments in the circulation of the virus in the Principality
